That Echo. Noooo. The Yaris wasn’t a particularly great looking car but to add a boot on like that just makes it, meh.

Glad you may finally of found a suitable apartment that is hopefully neither compact and bijou nor priced out of pocket.

It would be a gut renovation, but it’s priced right and on 79th, so the commute won’t change much and we’ll keep shopping/getting deliveries from the same places. The pain in the ass part is hiring a contractor, getting approvals (board, city) then paying rent plus a mortgage for a month or two while they make it liveable.

Red tape and bureaucracy is everywhere these days I’m afraid.

It’s a means to an end though fella.

Those Solara convertibles are just the definition of gopping.

Here it’s easier to buy a condo - this is a coop, so they’ll want everything from us short of blood and stool samples. At least this building is pet-friendly - one building said the board had to approve our cats! Two other apartments we looked at (and rejected) had elevator operators - you couldn’t press a button and go home! In this building they let me use the freight elevator by myself.

Wow. We call these people ‘jobs-worths’, they over complicate everything.

Too many people are too concerned about how others live their lives that they don’t live their own life and want to shove their opinions and rules onto others.

Personally if I went to see a house/apartment and they brought up the subject of a board or committee I’d be telling them to shove their house/apartment up their arse sideways unless they were prepared to pay the mortgage.

Paying a fortune for self opinionated A-holes you’ve never met to tell you what to do with your own property.

I don’t think I could live in the U.S., I’d always have a WTF expression on my face and shouting ‘what the fuck do you mean...’.

It's like they stopped designing it after the C pillar and let the rear just fall away.
